Today's Highlighted Video Story: Serious questions have been raised in Thailand about corruption in the police force after a police officer was murdered at a dinner party three weeks ago. What followed was a subsequent cover-up by officers who watched their colleague die. ABC's southeast Asia correspondent Lauren Day tells The World the story has exposed deep distrust in the police. 

Focus of the Day Legal News: Legal firms have been put at greater risk of breaching sanctions regulations by a lack of expertise in the private sector and at the Treasury’s dedicated watchdog, a conference heard today. Dentons partner Roger Matthews said sanctions expertise in businesses vulnerable to a breach, such as ’law firms and banks’, is ‘in the foothills’ of what is needed to ensure compliance, after the war in Ukraine ‘turbo-charged’ the sanctions regime.
