“People think when you get exonerated the fight is over - it’s just beginning." Dontae Sharpe spent 26 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. After proving his innocence and fighting to have his name cleared, he was granted a full pardon on 12 November 2021. This documentary highlighted the miscarriage of justice, and his fight with the criminal justice system that stole his freedom.

Focus of the Day Story:  What happens when someone is convicted of a criminal offence and is given a custodial sentence? Sometimes, the individual will serve at least part of their sentence in prison and the remainder on licence. But, what happens after they’ve served the totality of their sentence?
