From conflicts to the persecution of minorities because of religion or ethnicity, the world is facing more instances of human rights violations. Increasingly, the people responsible are not being punished. Qatar is holding a two-day conference on the issue with more than 250 representatives from the UN, EU and various rights organisations. They’re discussing ways to ensure the perpetrators of such crimes are held to account and don't escape justice.


 
Focus of the Day Article:
Justice Secretary David Gauke has announced an end to ‘blame game’ divorce, under major reforms due to become law as soon as parliamentary time allows. Family lawyers welcomed the proposals, which will remove fault from the divorce process, make irretrievable breakdown the sole ground for divorce, introduce joint divorce applications and remove the ability of one spouse to contest a divorce.
