Most of them now live in a refugee camp in Cox's Bazar, in Bangladesh, where surging violence by armed groups and criminal gangs is making them feel increasingly insecure. Denmark has been struggling to prevent the burnings, which are protected under current freedom of expression laws. The Danish government says it must act to stop the desecrations as they have increased the threat of terror attacks against Danish institutions and citizens.
