 Focus of the Day Legal Article:  The senior family judge, Sir Andrew McFarlane has warned of ‘fatigue and demoralisation’ among practitioners and urged them to prioritise their mental health and wellbeing. Speaking at Resolution’s online conference this week, ‘Future of Family Practice’, the President of the Family Division said fatigue was endemic across the sector. Today's Highlighted Video Story: A mother and her 16-month-old daughter have been buried in the same grave after a missile attack on the Azerbaijani city of Ganja that killed at least 13 civilians, as fighting intensifies over the disputed of Nagorno-Karabakh region. A new humanitarian ceasefire has come into effect between Armenia and Azerbaijan, brokered by France, Russia and the US. It comes a week after a failed Russia-brokered ceasefire, and Azerbaijan has already indicated that it will continue its offensive.

Focus of the Day Legal Article:  Government plans for a levy to fund the fight against financial crime amount to a 'special tax on the legal profession', the Law Society said today. In a strongly-worded response to a consultation on the economic crime levy announced by the chancellor earlier this year, Chancery Lane said any levy based on income would be especially harmful to the profession.
