Today's video story: London’s Saatchi Gallery has been transformed into a Russian-style prison through immersive theatre. Political artist and Pussy Riot founder Nadya Tolokonnikova devised the show, she spent two years in a Russian jail after her group’s anti-Putin protests, and is now fighting for prison reform. Before he worked on this programme Channel 4 News’ Kieron Bryan was also arrested and imprisoned in Russia when he was filming a Greenpeace protest in the arctic ocean. He went to meet Ms Tolokonnikova to discuss their own personal stories.


Focus of the day story:  Asylum seeker claims he was forced to meet Iran official to discuss return. Man says Home Office broke law by making him meet an Iranian diplomat to talk about voluntarily going back to Tehran. Full story - Guardian Law

Focus of the day story: Supreme Court Justice Lord Sumption has criticised the law of negligence and highlighted the benefits of ‘no-fault’ personal injury, in a speech that is likely to provoke controversy. Lord Sumption, who is due to retire in December 2018, also commented that there is currently an unacknowledged trend among the judiciary towards strict liability. His speech last week to the Personal Injuries Bar Association, ‘Abolishing personal injuries law—A project’, noted that greater numbers of claims are being brought—he cites figures of about 250,000 claims in 1973 compared to 1.2 million in 2013–14. Today's video story: Is the media not giving relevance to the mysterious death of a CBI judge who was probing Sohrabuddin case out of fear? CBI court judge Brijgopal Harkishan Loya who handled the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case died under suspicious circumstances after which the case was transferred to another judge barely days later and all charges against BJP President Amit Shah were dropped. In an interview to NDTV, retired Justice AP Shah said that he felt it was 'necessary' that the head of the judiciary looks into 'it' (allegations by family members of Justice Loya that his death was not a natural one as claimed).

But the crime and family law specialist, who has run her own Surrey firm since 1991, told the Gazette she believed the solicitor and barrister professions should merge in order to make the best of their shared skills. Today's video story: He was his country’s liberator, but Zimbabwe was held in thrall to Robert Mugabe for far too long. Today the build-up of pressure of almost four decades of misrule was too much. The military took over a week ago, putting Mugabe under house arrest and toppling his wife Grace from power. Then the ruling Zanu-PF party sacked him as its leader and parliament started impeachment proceedings. Those proceedings were halted today as his surprise resignation letter was read out. That sparked wild celebrations inside parliament.
