These frontline healthcare workers, mostly women from rural India, have been working relentlessly with the government and campaigning to create awareness from door-to-door. 'Rakshak ki Raksha' aims to protect these workers by providing them with much needed protective gear. With his family, Shivang Tayal runs the Hisar-based Tayal Foundation initiative.

Today's Video Focus:  There's been a second night of violent protests in the US city of Minneapolis in response to the death in police custody of a black man. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)  George Floyd died after a white police officer knelt on his neck during an arrest, his struggle to breath caught on camera by an onlooker. The four officers involved in the incident have been sacked and the mayor of Minneapolis has called for calm.


Focus of the Day Article: Criminal defence firms could go out of business if more jury trials are not held, a managing partner has said. The warning comes as the chair of the Criminal Bar Association highlighted the extraordinary amount of planning that has gone into starting a small number of jury trials during the Covid-19 pandemic. Today's Video Focus:  US Secretary of State of Mike Pompeo has advised the US Congress that the Trump administration no longer regards Hong Kong as autonomous from mainland China. His note to the US Congress sets the stage for Washington to withdraw preferential trade and financial status that the former British colony has enjoyed since it reverted to Chinese rule in 1997. "Hong Kong does not continue to warrant treatment under United States laws in the same manner as US laws were applied to Hong Kong before July 1997," Mr Pompeo said in a statement.


Focus of the Day Article: Most law firms have continued to resist radical measures to cope with the Covid-19 crisis, taking “moderate steps in the short term to ensure resilience in the long term”, new research has found. Full story - Legal Futures
