Today's Video Focus:  The Black Lives Matter campaign is sweeping the globe, and it's also bringing awareness to the plight of other groups, like Papuans and West Papuans fighting for equality and human rights. Last year we saw harrowing images of violence against Papuan protestors demonstrating against police brutality in their country with some given hefty prison sentences. Human rights lawyer Veronica Koman believes that there is now a greater awareness of the plight of Papuans among the Indonesian community than ever before, and she hopes that this too will become a global movement.


Focus of the Day Article: The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) is to beef up its monitoring of firms’ anti-money laundering (AML) efforts and begin a review of continuing competence, its draft 2020/21 business plan has revealed. The regulator also unveiled a series of other measures, including a one-year review of the Standards & Regulations (STaRs). Full story - Legal Futures
