Focus of the Day Law Article:  President of the Supreme Court, Lord Reed, has said he hopes an ethnic minority justice will be appointed to the UK’s highest court before he retires in six years’ time. He said the lack of diversity on the Supreme Court bench was a situation “which cannot be allowed to become shameful”.ocedure to revise budgets in the event of significant developments in litigation. Today's Highlighted Video Story:  BBC Newsnight investigation claims that Uighur people in the Middle East have been targeted by nations including Saudi Arabia, in apparent cooperation with China’s notorious crackdown on the ethnic minority. Uighur pilgrims and students in Saudi Arabia have been detained and forcibly deported back to China where they are understood to be placed into the county’s notorious ‘re-education’ camps. Besides deportations, activists estimate that hundreds of Uighurs have been pressured by Chinese authorities to return from abroad countries by threats and long imprisonments of family members back home.

Focus of the Day Law Article:   Solicitors must comply with a budgeting rule in force from 1 October or put their recovery of costs in peril, the Association of Costs Lawyers (ACL) has warned. The new rule 3.15A introduces a formal procedure to revise budgets in the event of significant developments in litigation. Today's Highlighted Video Story:  Two days after two people were killed by a mob in a Rohimapur, India, a remote village under Dokmoka police station of Karbi Anglong district in Assam after local residents suspected them of practicing witchcraft, till now 11 people have been arrested and a massive manhunt is on to nab the others, police sources said. The incident happened on Wednesday night but was first reported to the police on Thursday morning. While nine villagers were picked up on Thursday, two more were arrested on Friday. The arrested villagers were produced in a court and have been sent to police remand on Friday..
