Today's Video Focus:  On Wednesday, when the Indian Medical Association issued a "red alert" to healthcare professionals across India urging them to ensure all safety measures while performing their duties, it said 99 doctors across India have lost their lives to COVID-19. Among the 99 who have lost their lives, 57 of them are General Practitioners. 56-year-old Dr Milind Vairagi was among those who lost their lives. He was working as a General Practitioner at his clinic in Mumbai's Kalyan-Dombivali area which is currently Mumbai's biggest hotspot with total 9,000 cases.

Focus of the Day Article: The new ‘super-exam’ for aspiring solicitors will improve diversity only if employers have confidence in the assessment, an independent report has found. The Bridge Group, a diversity consultancy, said the Solicitors Qualifying Exam will achieve only ‘modest gains’ if leading law firms continue to recruit directly from a small pool of universities, with little focus on relative SQE performance. Today's Video Focus:  The Government has announced it does not trust the Chinese telecoms company Huawei to make equipment for Britain's 5G network. It has banned UK telecoms companies from buying new kit from Huawei and told them to strip it from their 5G network over the next seven years. The move will cost billions and delay the roll out of the new and faster mobile data system by up to three years. It is a sharp u-turn from the decision announced just six months ago to let Huawei make up to a third of the 5G network. China's Ambassador to the UK said the decision was disappointing and wrong.

Focus of the Day Article: The emphasis on increasing the range and choice of legal training in the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) could help remove the blockage to social mobility in the profession, an independent charity specialising in workplace equality has concluded. The worst of the violence was more than a decade ago and the UK has granted asylum to some of those fleeing continuing instability in Darfur. However many more migrants from there are still determined to reach the UK — hoping to find safety and economic security.
