Focus of the Day Law News/Article: A Dunbartonshire company director has been disqualified for eight years after his firm instigated 193 million automated calls and failed to pay a £500,000 fine. In 2018, Stephen Foote’s firm, CRDNN Limited, contravened regulation 19 and 24 of the privacy and electronic communications regulations 2003 (PECR) in that CRDNN made an approximate 193 million unauthorised automated calls, of which 52,994,243 connected. Today's Highlighted Video Story: The military government in Burkina Faso has said it is searching for around 50 women who have been abducted by suspected Islamist militants in the north of the country.
